DATA FEED RATES (DFR) CHART
|
|
SOLID CARBIDE DRILLS
|
HOW TO USE THIS CHART:
- Application Example:
- Drilling a 1/2 dia. hole in alloyed steel 4150 270BHN with a QC21 drill.
|
- To Find Cutting Feed Rate (IPR)
- Select the appropriate SFM from the Operating Guides above.
- Use the Alpha symbol to find the material code
- Reference the drill diameter
- Select the corresponding IPR
- To calculate RPM: SFM/D x 3.82 (45/.5 x 3.82)
- To calculate IPM: IPR x RPM (.0060 x 344)
